Chinese Plum Sauce

Ingredients
15-20 small to medium plums
3 tsp minced Garlic (Approx 3-4 cloves)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion OR 1.5 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp fresh ginger OR 1 tbsp ginger puree
1/4 cup Soy Sauce (I use dark soy)
1-2 tsp chilli puree
2 tbsp brown sugar
(Optional) 1 tsp MSG

Notes
Inspired by this recipe from Eating Richly
Method
Slice plums in half and discard the pits/stones. Cut each half into 6 pieces.
Mix plums in saucepan with all other ingredients.
Heat on medium for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Blend well and add water if needed.
This sauce can stay in the fridge for up to two weeks, or in the freezer for six months.
