The Journey of Neurodiversity

December 10, 2025

Tackling neurodiversity is a difficult topic for the neurotypical, neurodiverse and especially those that don't know which category they are in.

For someone who has been on the journey for so long, getting the answer that they are neurodiverse can be a relief. For others, it can be intense and you don't know which step to take next.

My journey has not been as long as some, and I know that my struggles will be different to others. I'm likely still processing what it actually means and what impact, if any, diagnosis will have on me.

While speaking to my ADHD assessor, she made it clear that in my case, though I do have struggles, they have likely been masked by high IQ and potentially Autism and yet there is a part of me that is running at 100 miles a minute and unable to stop at any point. The idea of having medication and having moments of slow thoughts or even no thoughts is actually somewhat terrifying. There's also the thought that any treatment can lead to losing my spark.

The one constant I try to remind myself is that there is no one size fits all solutions, and you are uniquely you with or without medication.

You have a spark even if you have some help.

You have a spark even if you're experiencing burnout.

That's where my business name comes from, everyone has a spark; and that spark fuels everything, even on low days.
